Matthew supports the Scada Skills team as an independent contractor by providing Quality Control and Project Consulting services to our teams and customers.
After serving as a US Marine for four years, Matthew studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. He started his working career as a salesperson for his family owned pharmaceutical business. From there he transitioned to a technical role, dealing with production, and honed the skills required for accurate production and reporting requirements. His software toolkit included the use of C#, Microsoft Visual Studio and Web Programming. Once his dad retired out of the business, Matthew decided to pursue the Industrial Automation world.
His early projects involved handling some (rather dangerous) Compressed Gas work - where he would sit in a small field room, dealing with programming, hoping nothing blows up! He clearly succeeded in that venture - eventually moving on to Cement Handling and Resin Coated Sand Production. His Mining, Material Handling and Trans Loading experience is extensive - extending to Programming VFDs. He has worked all over the US and Canada including the Oil and Gas Industry as well as Food and Beverage work for a big noodle production facility south of San Antonio, TX. Some of his most recent experience includes Water & Wastewater work for a local municipality.
Today his skill set includes Python, SQL and tools like Wonderware, Factory Talk View (and others) as well as Ignition in which he is Gold Certified. His hardware and PLC experience includes brands like Allen Bradley, Siemens, CTI, SCADAPack and Schneider.
Matthew can provide service in all of the above areas as well as writing Control Narratives and Control System Design.
